Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: Earth
Event Time: 2024-05-12T08:55Z ( ACE: MAG )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
ACE: MAG
ACE: SWEPAM
DSCOVR: PLASMAG
Activity ID: 2024-05-12T08:55:00-IPS-001 (version 2)
Quality of ICME Signature: 2 (clear signatures)
Note: Arrival characterized by an amplification of magnetic field components with Btotal increasing from 5nT 2024-05-11T08:55Z to 12nT at 08:58Z. An increase in solar wind speed was observed from ~820 km/s at 08:55Z to 925 km/s at 09:17Z, with a subsequent strong increase in temperature as well. Density data appears to be low with no significant increases. It is possible this arrival signature corresponds to a flank impact from CME: 2024-05-10T07:12Z.
